ARTIST’S BIO

Mary is an established artist and potter from Vernon, British Columbia . She has operated a pottery studio there since 1983. As well as producing sculptural and functional clay and porcelain pieces, she paints with acrylic, coloured pencil and watercolour. At present she is also renting a painting studio at Gallery Vertigo in downtown Vernon. She sees a strong connection between the colours and designs in both clay forms and paper works. This has resulted in several juried solo and group exhibitions that explore an issue or theme. Mary is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Okanagan Potters Association. She has a Bachelors of Education in Art from McGill University, Montréal, Quebec , has given workshops ,and taught art for several years at high schools in Montréal, Quebec,  in Victoria and Vernon, BC. Commissioned artworks have found homes throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
